To be nobody but yourself in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everybody else means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting.” ~ E. E. Cummings
The quote above is one of my favorite quotes of all time because, as cliché as this sounds, being yourself can be hard sometimes. Life is hard, and the pressure trying to achieve your dreams, make your family and friends proud, and making a living can be overwhelming, but I truly believe that if you stay true to yourself, if you strive to become the person that you want to be and not the person others expect you to be, you will survive and find happiness, friends, and family along the way.
Some people may scoff at my last statements, questioning what I have experienced and asking how I can be so naïve to say that everything will work out. And they are right; I haven’t experienced half of what a lot of people have dealt with in their lives. My parents have been very supportive of my decisions throughout my life, I haven’t had to deal with any major illnesses, and there are a lot of things that I take for granted that I probably shouldn’t; however, there is one thing that I do know. I know that life can drag you down. It can make you wonder why you are alive and what your purpose is in the world. But if you find yourself, if you let your friends and your family help you find yourself, then you have already won.
That is why I was excited when Shannon approached me about building this website. The goal of Bella Soul is truly inspiring and I believe that it can help people fight through the hard times, overcome an illness, and find themselves. I am happy that I have a chance to contribute to this cause and help Bella Soul grow. Please feel free to contact me if you have questions about the website, want to get involved, or even just want to talk. And I part with these final words: Be Strong. Be Proud. Be Yourself. Live Bella Soul.
